Georgia Update – Georgians express their solidarity with Ukraine – 3 March, 2022
Citizens have been gathering in various cities to express their solidarity with Ukraine, and condemn Russia’s military operations, The National Tourism Administration has set up a hotline to assist Ukrainian tourists in Georgia, PM says the country won’t join the economic sanctions against Russia imposed by the European Union and the United States, and the population is not happy about it; the authorities did not allow a chartered flight by the Ukrainian government to land in Tbilisi and take volunteers to Ukraine, civil society organizations published a petition addressed to the EU institutions and the EU member states, Bacho Akhalaya was released from prison, Facebook deleted Georgian pages and groups that were associated with pro-Russian media outlet Alt-Info, and much more!
